Description

Rebuilding Wheels Rebuilding Lives (RWRL) program provides a refurbished, used vehicle to families or an individual to help fight transportation barriers in Ottawa. Vehicles are repaired by staff and students from St. Paul High School as part of a partnership with Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Applicants are asked to complete an application and interview to assess eligibility. The information shared during this interview is confidential and only kept until the end of this application round. All applicants will receive an update by January 7th 2026.

Confidentiality

United Way East Ontario is committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information. The information gathered during this application will only be used to determine the recipients of a one-time gift of a refurbished, used vehicle. Applicant information will not be kept after the completion of this program. Please note that this application requires a recent T4 Statement of Income and valid Class G Ontario driver’s license number.

To qualify for a vehicle, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Applicant must be living on low income and be a resident of the City of Ottawa
  • Applicant must be able to demonstrate that they have exhausted other funding opportunities 
  • Applicant must have a valid Class G Ontario driver’s license
  • Applicant must have a verifiable job or job offer, or pursuing a post-secondary education/training opportunity
  • Applicant must be able to afford ongoing cost of car ownership
